Hydroelectricity
The KWO’s (Oberhasli Power Company) infrastructure form one of the most complex hydroelectric systems in the alps. Since its founding in 1924, the KWO has continually expanded its infrastructure which today consists of 9 power plants, 8 storage lakes,150km of tunnels, hundreds of kilometres of pipes, roads and transport lifts. The KWO produces enough hydroelectricity for 1,2 million people.
