Alpbach Gorge
The Alpbach gorge is not a pace for weaklings! The breathtaking clim along cliff walls and above the splashing river between Meiringen and Hasliberg is really something.
The ascent requires you to be sure-footed and not afraid of heights! There are parts with ladders and some parts without hand rails. The trail should be taken from Meiringen up towards the Hasliberg and it is a cliff trail which you follow at your own risk.
The gorge is about 10 - 15 minutes away from Meiringen and the hike up to the Hasliberg takes around 30 minutes.
It is recommended to use climbing aids for children and adults with little climbing experience or to take a mountain guide. The gorge should not be attempted in winter or by wet weather (ice, slippery when wet, risk of falling).
