Climbing in the best granite

The traverse of the Kleine-Grosses Gelmerhorn from south to north is a classic, very rewarding climb in the best granite. This climbing tour starts at the southern Gelmerlücke at the foot of the south ridge of the Kleine Gelmerhorn. From the Gelmerhütte, first descend to the middle Diechter and then climb up towards the deepest rock cove that descends from the southern Gelmerlücke. The south ridge ends with a summit block and a fine-grip summit slab (it is possible to go round to the east).
